The International conference theme is “Geospatial integrated technologies for natural hazards and environmental problems”. The conference attracted more than 200 experts, scientists, lecturers, and students nationwide and abroad.

Prof.Dr. Huynh Thi Lan Huong - President of University council gave the opening speech of the Conference 

Speaking at the opening ceremony, Prof.Dr. Huynh Thi Lan Huong – President of the University Council, welcomed experts, speakers, researchers, and guests to the international conference GIS-IDEAS 2023. Hanoi University of Natural Resources and Environment is honored to cooperate with Japan – Vietnam Geoinformatics Consortium (JVGC) and Osaka Metropolitan University (OMU) to organize the international conference GIS-IDEAS 2023. This is a platform for scientists to exchange academic knowledge about Geoinformatics to develop the application of forecasting and warning technologies for natural disasters towards a sustainable future for Vietnam and the world. The conference also creates opportunities for cooperation between domestic and international universities.

Speaking at the conference, Prof. Venkatesh Raghavan – Representative of Osaka Metropolitan University, hoped that the collaboration between HUNRE and international scientists would bring about new topics and scientific projects and find solutions for natural disasters that are becoming more and more complicated today.

Dr. Nghiem Vu Khai - Founder of GIS-IDEAS spoke at the event

Speaking at the event, Dr. Nghiem Vu Khai – Founder of GIS-IDEAS, was happy when GIS-IDEAS received a lot of valuable research from domestic and international scientists. He also expected that Hanoi University of Natural Resources and Environment would bring to all participants a GIS-IDEAS conference with many solutions to protect the environment, climate, and the Earth and improve the human resources to carry out significant scientific research.    

During the 02 days of the conference, besides the posters, the oral presentations were divided into 03 sessions, including Session 1 – GIS for analysis, planning, and spatial management; Session 2 – Integrated technologies and AI: Prediction and warning natural hazards and environmental protection; session 3 – GIS and remote sensing for environmental majors.

Speaking at the closing ceremony, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Le Thi Trinh – Vice-rector of Hanoi University of Natural Resources and Environment, thanked experts and scientists for participating in the event; she also expressed her respect for Osaka Metropolitan University, Japan – Vietnam Geoinformatics Consortium, according to Assoc. Prof. Dr. Le Thi Trinh, this conference is highly appreciated by experts for the quality of the article and the professional organization of the conference organizing committee.
