Preliminary survey on education quality accreditation at Hanoi University of Natural Resources and Environment
Overview of the preliminary survey to assess the quality of education at the University
Attending the preliminary survey, there were Prof.Dr. Nguyen Huu Duc – Head of the external evaluation delegation, Dr.Ta Thi Thu Hien – Director of Centre for Education Accreditation, Vietnam National University, Hanoi, Dr. Tran Huu Luong – Secretary of the delegation, Ms. Nguyen Hoa Huy – Supervisor. On the side of Hanoi University of Natural Reosurces and Environment, there were Assoc.prof.Dr. Hoang Anh Huy – Rector, Prof.Dr. Huynh Thi Lan Huong – President of University Council, Assoc.prof.Dr. Le Thi Trinh – Vice-rector, Dr.Vu Danh Tuyen – Vice Rector, unit representatives and members, secretary of the Council of Self-Assessment.
Assoc.Prof. Dr. Hoang Anh Huy – Secretary of Party Committee, Rector speaking at the preliminary survey At the working session, Assoc.Prof.Dr. Hoang Anh Huy – Secretary of Party Committee, Rector expressed his pleasure to welcome the external evaluation delegation. Mr. Hoang Anh Huy gave a preliminary report on the general university activities and self-assessment process as of now. Mr. Hoang Anh Huy affirmed that improving quality of training has always been considered as a key task, so after being recognized as meeting the educational quality standards on March 30th 2018, HUNRE immediately carried out self-assessment of training programs in order to continuously improve the training quality. HUNRE has been accredited and certified 9 training programs at university level. Evaluation activities are also the opportunities for the University to review the results and achievements achieved in a general way. Thereby, continue to promote the strengths, especially to discover the remaining problems and offer solutions to improve the training quality. On behalf of Hanoi University of Natural Resources and Environment, Assoc.Prof.Dr. Hoang Anh Huy also committed to focusing on adding documents required by the External evaluation delegation and preparing the best conditions for the official survey.
On behalf of the external evaluation delegation, Prof.Dr. Nguyen Huu Duc affirmed that the accreditation and assessment Hanoi University of Natural Resources and Environment for the delegation is both a responsibility and an honor. Mr. Nguyen Huu Duc also represented the evaluation team, said that the evaluation team will evaluate the entire operation of the University, and at the same time find out the shortcomings to help the University improve in the context of improving the quality of education and training.
Dr. Ta Thi Thu Hien - Director of Centre for Education Accreditation introducing the objectives and contents of survey and member of external evaluation delegation Representative of Center for Accreditation of Education - VNU, Dr. Ta Thi Thu Hien - Director of centre gave a general introduction to the objectives and contents of the preliminary survey and briefly introduced the members of the external assessment delegation. The external evaluation delegation was established according to the Decision No. 62/QD-KDCL dated January 27, 2023 by the Director of Centre for Educational Quality Accreditation - VNU, with 08 members, including 07 experts and 01 supervisor. Dr. Ta Thi Thu Hien also briefly introduced the members of the external evaluation delegation so that the University can believe that all of the members are experts with a lot of experience in accrediting higher education institutions. Dr. Ta Thi Thu Hien highly appreciated and recognized the obvious changes of Hanoi University of Natural Resources and Environment in improving the quality of education after the first self-assessment.
Dr. Tran Huu Luong - Secretary of the external evaluation delegation reporting on the results of studying documents At the preliminary survey, Dr. Tran Huu Luong - Secretary of the delegation reported on the results of the studying self-assessment records, announced the official survey plan and the requirements for the official survey, such as: Documents, additional documents, data, interviewees, etc. At the same time, the delegation also spent time carrying out a preliminary survey of the University's facilities. In the afternoon of the same day, the external evaluation deleegation moved to the university’s branch in Thanh Hoa province to check the evidences and self-assessment records of Thanh Hoa branch. At the end of the preliminary survey, the Center for Education Accreditation - VNU and Hanoi University of Natural Resources and Environment signed the preliminary survey minutes. As planned, from February 17, 2023 to February 22, 2023, the external evaluation delegation will conduct an official survey to assess the educational quality of Hanoi University of Natural Resources and Environment.
