On the coming June 16th and 17th, Mark Rutte, Prime Minister of Netherlands will have an official visit to Vietnam to contribute to promoting multifaceted cooperation between the two countries, with 5 priority fields of cooperation, including: petroleum and gas complex, trading port, logistics services, adaptation to climate change and water, agriculture management.

On June 6, Deputy Prime Minister of Natural Resources and Environment Tran Hong Ha received Mr. Joop Scheffers , Ambassador of the Netherlands to Viet Nam and Mr. Tom Kompier, first secretary water and climate change of the Dutch Embassy. The two sides exchanged issues related to preparation of Summit on Mekong River Development Plan which will be participated by Vietnam and Dutch Prime Ministers on June 17, 2014.

On June 5, 2014, the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment in collaboration with the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee held a national meeting in response to the World Environment Day 2014.
