Vietnam - Laos: Signing the cooperation in the construction of foundation database on topography information
On September 11th, Director of Vietnam Department of Survey and Mapping Phan Duc Hieu and Director of Lao Department of Mapping Bouasoth Souvannakoumane signed a working minute on the implementation of the project "Building basic foundation database on topography information for economic - social planning, development and monitoring of natural resources & environment of Lao People’s Democratic Republic". Witnessing the signing ceremony were Deputy Minister of Natural Resources and Environment of Vietnam Nguyen Linh Ngoc and Deputy Minister of Home Affairs of Lao People's Democratic Republic Thongchanh Manixay.
Overview of the signing ceremony
The project is sponsored by the Government of Vietnam. The two sides pledged to closely cooperate for the project components to be implemented in accordance with the progress as planned, striving to complete the entire project by 2016.
The project has significant meanings to economic - social development and security - defense of Lao People's Democratic Republic. The project also strongly represents the friendship and solidarity of the two ministries and two countries.
