On 26th March 2018, Department of Biodiversity Conservation-Vietnam Environment Administration, Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment in collaboration with Hanoi University of Natural Resources and Environment (HUNRE) hosted the Asean Biodiversity Heroes Regional Forum. Attending the forum, there are national and international experts, HUNRE staffs, lecturers and students; and especially the presence of 4 out of 10 Asean Biodiversity Heroes which are Prof. Dr. DANG Huy Huynh-Vietnam; Dr. Nonn Panitvong - Thailand; Dr. Maung Maung Kyi - Myanmar and Mr. Nitsavanh Louangkhot Pravongviengkham - Laos.
On March 6th, Swedish Ambassador Mr. Pereric Hogberg- and the Swedish delegation visited and had a meeting with staffs, lecturers and students of Hanoi University of Natural Resources and Environment (HUNRE).
On 16 of November 2017, the workshop "Green campus - Towards environmental protection and sustainable development" was organized at Hanoi University of Natural Resources and Environment (HUNRE). The workshop was attracted many participants, including researchers, scientists and students in Vietnam and other countries, especially Professor. Tae Yoon Park from Yonsei University, South Korea also had shared the research and knowledge on Green Campus of South Korea Universities.

The 5th Asia-Pacific Coastal Aquifer Management Meeting (APCAMM 5) was held at Danang from 17 to 19/7/2017. The Hanoi University of Natural Resources and Environment hosted and co-ordinated the meeting in combination with the University of Danang. of the meeting was participated by nearly 120 international and national experts, scientists, researchers and managers from around the world.

On 21st September 2016, the Closing conference of the project “Capacity building for Thuy Loi University (TLU) and Hanoi University of Natural Resources and Environment (HUNRE) with focus on climate change” (NICHE/VNM - 106) was organized in Hanoi. Mr. Chu Pham Ngoc Hien - Deputy Minister of Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment (MONRE) of Vietnam attended and spoke in this conference.
From 5th to 7th July 2016, Hanoi University of Natural Resources and Environment (HUNRE); Coordinating Committee for Geoscience Programs in East and Southeast Asia (CCOP); Khon Kaen University (KKU) Thailand; Quebec University, Canada and TU-Delft University, the Netherlands co-organized successfully the International workshop on Sustainable Groundwater Development with the participation of many researchers from Vietnam and different countries.
