On April 22, 2016 the Hanoi University of Natural Resources and Environment had great excitement when the competition with the 47 remaining contestants entered the finals. The Olympiad, which has attracted a large number of registered students. They passed the qualifying round of the competition. 47 contestants with the highest results made it to these finals. The contestants needed to pass 2 rounds in order to be selected to the 15 best contestants of competition. The best student will become the winner.

The Olympiad aims to enhance the education of Marxist-Leninist philosophy and Ho Chi Minh Thought, contributing to raising political awareness and fostering revolutionary ideals for youth union members and students.

The competition was divided into three rounds. During the first round, the contestants answered 20 questions, with 30 seconds preparation time per question. The 30 students with the highest score went to round two. During the 2^nd round, the 30 contestants challenged their knowledge with 15 multiple-choice questions. In the 3^rd and final round, only the remaining best 15 students participated. The questions were made in different grades of difficulty.

The final winner, with a very high score of 420, was candidate number 18: Nguyen Viet Minh Hieu - DH4KM from the Factulty of Environment.
