On March 6^th, Swedish Ambassador Mr. Pereric Hogberg- and the Swedish delegation visited and had a meeting with staffs, lecturers and students of Hanoi University of Natural Resources and Environment (HUNRE).

In open atmosphere of the meeting, Assoc. Prof. Dr. PHAM Quy Nhan-Vice President of HUNRE-thanked the attention of Swedish Ambassador of Vietnam- Mr. Pereric Hogberg and other senior Swedish experts; International Relations Department of Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment; the Press and communication agencies that dedicated to HUNRE.

During the  meeting, the Swedish Ambassador summarized the history of the relationship between Sweden and Vietnam, as well as their diplomatic achievements. Sweden is the first European country to establish diplomatic relations with Vietnam since 1969. The Kingdom of Sweden has increasingly expanded its strong relationship with Vietnam in various fields, including education, training, technology andscience. These above fields are always given priority. Besides that, the cooperation in the field of natural resources and environment such as the SEMLA project aimed to establish a resource and environmental management system that contributes to economic growth, poverty reduction, sustainable development and environmental protection.

The senior experts shared knowledge, exchanged experiences with staffs, lecturers and students on issues related to the environment such as water resources management, marine management, climate change, natural disasters, etc. Moreover, they also share experiences of Sweden in the sustainable development of low carbon economy, solutions for environmental pollution, respond to climate change, especially the effective use of water resources.

On behalf of HUNRE, Assoc. Prof. Dr. NGUYEN Ngoc Thanh - the President of HUNRE-highly appreciated the Swedish Ambassador and the Swedish delegation for their interest and great contribution in the field of natural resources and environment. The President of HUNRE believed that, as a bridge between peoples and the governments of two countries, the Swedish Ambassador of Vietnam- Mr. Pereric Hogberg- will make an important contribution to enhance the understanding and collaboration between Sweden and Vietnam, promote the cooperation in the natural resources and environment field, as well as open new cooperation relations between HUNRE and Swedish University in the coming time.
