With the main target to develop the co-operation among network of technical universities in scientific research and technology transfer activities, the effective application of scientific research results into production for provinces in Vietnam, Ministry of Education and Training (MOET) has decided to establish the Science - Technology Club of Technical Universities since 1992. Over 23 years of establishment and development, there are currently 23 members, including universities and institutes in Vietnam. The Club activities have contributed on the sustainable development of Vietnam.

On 17^th and 18^th November 2015, the Science and Technology Club of Technical Universities held the 47th workshop on  "Technical Universities with the sustainable development of the biosphere regions" by Nong Lam University (Ho Chi Minh city).

The HUNRE delegation led by President Nguyen Ngoc Thanh to attend the workshop and Hanoi University of Natural Resources and Environment admitted as the 23rd offical member of the Club of Vietnam Technical Universities.
